Lennie
Hey Vinny, Your title says "Asian Biotope". That's basically the largest continent in the world. Biotopes are done for a very specific location/region. You should decide the location of biotope and then create the closest replication of what nature is like in that very specific location. You just want a tank randomly made with plants/fish originally exist from anywhere from Asia? If so, that's not a biotope. That's basically a tank with Asian fish/plants in it. If you want to create a biotope in Asia, you should do lots of reading and research and end up deciding the biotope yourself. Some biotope examples from my award winning friend that is very interested in biotopes and contests (BAC 2023 - S. America 2th & 2022 3th BAC 2022 - S.E. Asia 2th) His channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ArifhbsAquatics -------- Edited July 7 by Lennie
beastie
Even if we skip the biotope issue, and focus on the "at least asia". 20 gallon is not large enough for two school of fish. Minnows (ideally a bit of a flow, hate high temps) and any form of gourami or a betta dont work, (cause they hate flow and need high temp). Combining any form of barb and any form of a long finned pretty centerpiece, like a gourami or a betta, is a riskier bet and needs to be well researched Combining a betta and any fish is always a risk, so lets stay with gourami, and given the size, lets stay with honey. Honey gourami, group of any rasboras, harlequin, espei. Or danios, CPD (though I dont like their look), choprae. Or why not rice fish, though the colors of honey gourami and the medakas would be similar ,might not be the pop you want. If you do sandy substrate and lots of plant roots/hideouts, kuhli loaches are your fish
