PonyPlantedTanks Posted May 19 Share Posted May 19 Basically it’s throwing a sponge filter or piece of sponge (or any other filtration media) into your established tank to grow beneficial bacteria. That way when you’re ready to start cycling your new tank, you can throw the established media into the tank.
