Hillstream loaches and Lava rocks

Hi everyone,

I'm currently planning my next tank, and I would like to add some Hillstream loaches.

But as you can see, the hardscape is already done and I used lava rocks which are by nature a bit sharp edged, thus my question:

Can Hillstream loaches handle sharp edged rocks like lava stone?

I think it'll be just fine. 

I've never seen a small fish like a hillstream hurt itself on decor or substrate.

I think they will be fine with it as in terms of not injuring themselves, but I believe you are not going to see the natural behaviors that they exhibit when grazing on smooth larger rocks as in their natural habitat. I doubt they will venture onto those rocks at all. I would expect them to be more on the glass and the driftwood in this setup. Maybe add some more driftwood for them.

Yeah, I don't expect them to go onto the stones, I'm happy as long as they don't get hurt. The driftwood should be big enough, that's a 60gal tank 😊
