I'm building a new 75 gallon tank which will be placed in the main living room with a window behind it (blinds closed). Should I put a black background on the back part of the tank to block out any residual UV light? If so, what would be the best product? Tony s Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 (edited) depends on the look you want. background if you want it to have more depth. or you could use acrylic paint and paint the back glass. AllFishNoBrakes Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 I put a black poster board background on most of my tanks. I would absolutely do that if there was a window behind it. AllFishNoBrakes Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 I bought mine from Walmart. Just your standard, black poster board. I got super fancy with mine.
