Guppysnail
Bolbitis heteroclita Asian water fern most likely.
Billfromtx
Thanks Guppysnail! Is it normal for plants of this such to grow nodes on the leaves? Like a baby bolbitis? The photo I posted is a week or so old. I will upload a new one in a bit. It has these little nodes growing off the leaves. Not sure if it how a baby bolbitis grows? or if it is a flower?
Guppysnail
Yes very normal. These are grown emersed (above water) because submerged they grow very very very slowly. Companies cannot wait a year or more to grow and sell a plant. Those large leaves are not adapted to underwater life. When stressed ferns grow babies all over their leaves. The babies will suck the nutrients from the parent leaf until they eventually detach, float away and find a new home to grab onto. Make certain the hard stem part near the roots is not buried in the substrate.
JoeQ
When they are stressed they sprout babies from their leaves. I have one in my guppy tank left in it's pot since before Christmas thats shooting sprouts off like crazy! Edited January 31 by JoeQ
