JoeKirk
Is this one of the issues with the heaters or something else? Moved it closer to the flow.
jwcarlson
EL, I think is "end of life" and I'm assuming 76 is the temp you have it set at?
Administrators Cory Posted January 31 Administrators Share Posted January 31 Yeah if you have the original model, EL flashes after 14 months of use. Still works correctly, just a reminder to make sure you have a back up for when it eventually goes bad. Could be 5 years, tomorrow, 3 weeks, 2 years etc.

Matt B
@JoeKirk I did the exact same thing! . My 100 watt was flashing EL and then 78.....what the? Oh yeah... face plant. I took off the suction cups turned it so I can't see the display. It's still working great! I do keep a thermometer in the tank to double check its maintaning the temp I want.. So far so good! Galabar
If ACO were ever to take up heater building again, my suggestion would be a small led that goes on when the heater has reached EOL. It could even be a happy green color. 🙂 The current approach seems a little heavy handed.
