KittenFishMom
I'm trying to clean my ACO heater that was in the tank with the leeches. It have a lot of ramshorn snails in it. I have been scrubbing it with a nail brush and running water through it from different angles and shaking it to try to get the shells out. There are still shells in that that rattle when I shaking it. I would love any advice on how to get the shells out before I soak it in peroxide. I don't want to void the warranty, but I am worried that the shells might contain leech eggs. I wrote to customer service at ACO, but they didn't have any experience with this problem. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
nabokovfan87
Best I can think of is trying a toothbrush. What a hassle! I don't believe there is an easy way to unsnap (nor should you) the black protective housing.
reefhugger
Maybe a vacuum with the narrow attachment?
Pepere
Maybe put in a pan of aquarium water and let it set for 3-4 days to let them get hungry if they are still alive. Then add a wafer to the pan and let them come out to eat….
