planting crypts with bent stems

I didn't choose my newly purchased crypts well, most had curved stems when I bought them. See my plant haul at swap meet (center-top, and bottom-right).

Should we leave them alone to melt back on their own, or trim all or some if the leaves? FYI, these have undergone reverse respiration. Won't the crypts melt back anyway, since that's what they notoriously do?

they might melt, they might not. what i would probably do is plant them, and see what happens. if they dont melt back, once established you can always trim them. id probably trim 30% of them at a time.

I wouldn't trim them just because of bent stems.  They will do that if the plant is floated at the top of a tank for a few days.  It shouldn't take them long to straighten out after you put it in the substrate.
