Alien looking algae ?

This algae showed up overnight and seems to be able to grow expediently fast. This “algae”growth was not there yesterday and today has grown overnight mostly on all the glass within the tank. I tried researching this but I cannot distinguish what kind of algae this is, if it is algae. Any ideas and advice how to get rid of it?

Holy crap that looks just like slime mold! Maybe your fish will eat it?

Thank you! I’ll look into this I had a feeling it may not be algae possibly! Hopefully easy fix 🤞

Here is a photo from online of a freshwater sponge.  You might just happen to have one that populated in your tank.  Bentley Pascoe has some videos on youtube about them 🙂 .  This might be what you're looking at, but difficult to say.
