Lovey-Dovey Neons

Recommended Posts

I just caught my neons pairing up and spawning! They seem to be doing so over a large hunk of Java moss in a corner of their tank, which they share with a betta, zebra danios, and some gold Endlers I’m working on. Does anyone have some tips on how I could maximize my egg yield?
Thanks!

First of all, that’s awesome!! You’re doing things right.

Now, Mark’s aquatics in UK did a long series on breeding Tetras. I’ll link here…

I’d personally move _all fish and shrimp out_ and turn the lights off.

Tetra fry are light-sensitive. They’ll nibble on available infusoria for a week, then they can try vinegar eels. Lights can come back on after a week and a half or so.

Thanks! Those vids are really useful…just need to find space for another tank. 🤓
