Flynn Naysmith
I'm from New Zealand where we can only keep Chinese Fire bellied newts (Cynops orientalis), Japanese fire bellied newts (Cynops pyrrhogaster) and Axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum). I would love to see all the different species of Newts and Salamanders people keep in other parts of the world.
Expectorating_Aubergine
I think l the laws changed in the USA. Something about concerns over a new form of chytrid fungus that caudates (newts & salamanders) could potentially bring in. Except for axolotyls, I have seen a very sharp decline in tailed amphibians in the hobby.....
Flynn Naysmith
That’s really interesting. chytrid fungus is a huge problem in NZ as well.

Chick-In-Of-TheSea
I used to have a western newt in my fish tank when I was about 12 years old or so.
