Jack knutson
I just got two pond turtles in a 55 gal tank with a fluval 206 and 307 running on it I was wondering if anyone has any fish stocking ideas that will work with turtles??
Mridul Singh
This is a hard thing because it honestly depends on the individual turtles and the individual fish. Some turtles couldn't care less about other fish in the tank, and other see the as raining donuts. Some fish have the brains to run away from turtles, and some don't. Some fish that have worked for me are platies, endlers, zebra danios, and least killifish. You will notice that 75% of that list is made up of livebearers, because they proliferate a lot, and even if an occasional fish is eaten, there won't be a dent. If you have a place the turtles can't get to (such as a caged off area), some fish can live there as well without fear of being eaten. Hope that helps.
