Mark and Cheryl
What species of snails and shrimp are ok to keep with daphnia
CJs Aquatics
I’m no expert on this topic but I would assume most species would work. I would double check with others on the forum but I think most would be safe as long as parameters are monitored and enough food is prevalent.
Mark and Cheryl
Thank you for the reply. I have read daphnia are voracious eaters. How could shrimp get enough food ?
Schuyler
Daphnia are filter feeders so I think they wouldn't be in direct competition for food. I feed my daphnia dissolved yeast mixed with ground to fish food.
Mark and Cheryl
How many gallons would be best for long term culturing?
Dtolb15
I’ve been reading up on this a lot lately. I believe it’s a balance between having a tank large enough to produce a sustainable supply but still be able to feed them adequately. I currently have two. 1 in a 10 gallon, 2nd in a 29 gallon tub. So far the 10 is thriving, hard to gauge the 29 just yet. Not really a specific answer, jus sharing my experience.
