FLFishChik
So, this is happening in my aquarium now and I’m not sure why? Only thing I’ve done differently is remove the baffle from to HIB for a little better flow. Any ideas?
Tommy Vercetti
Test ammonia, sometimes bubbles can indicate higher than normal ammonia. But more likely just bio film that needs to be skimmed off. Could also be caused by a male betta building a bubble nest.
Lennie
I have these everytime I start a new tank, and if there is a decaying matter and/ or ammonia in the tank. So I would def test for ammonia as @Tommy Vercetti recommended. other than that: Edited February 1 by Lennie
mynameisnobody
In my experience, bubbles mean either meds are in the water or there is a protein buildup somewhere.

I tested the water and 0ppm ammonia. Don’t have meds in the tank and no betta, so it must be protein. Which is weird because I’m not feeding different BUT, there is now more surface agitation because I removed the baffle from the HOB!
