Midnight ram breeding journal

Looks like no one has done a midnight ram breeding journal so I will be the first!

I have two pairs of dark knight rams, or "midnight" rams. I have one pair that I recently put in my community tank and another pair in my 10 gallon. The pair that I have in my community is the direct strain of coralbandit strain, for the second pair I am not 100% sure but still is a midnight ram. I have been conditioning these pairs with blood worms, flakes, white worms, live bbs, and brine shrimp. My pair in the community tank look like they are going to spawn soon while the one in my 10 gallon is still arguing with each other... Do remember midnights are highly aggressive, lets just call my community pair pair 1, and my 10 gallon pair, pair 2. Pair 2 had killed the dither fish I had put for them which was very surprising to see.. Lets hope that I can see some breeding action again after my first failed breedings with them before..

Very nice looking gbrs, looks darker then the average gbr. Looks like a slight blue black

This a pic of my first pair of rams (RIP). I now have a group of 6 with 2 males and 4 females.

Wow very nice colors for a young pair.

  • 4 weeks later...

I was only asking because there's an older lady on SimplyDiscus forum that sometimes sells pairs of midnight rams from CoralBandit's line.  She might sell on Aquabid too for all I know.  Liz Streithorst is her name, she's from somewhere down south, I believe.  Mississippi, if memory serves.

Hope you have luck breeding them! 🙂
