Rekin
I got a strange 15 gallon tall tank from a friend for free. I am going to convert it into a lowboy-ish tank, 24" long- 16" wide- 8" tall. Total volume is around 13 gallons, but with a huge footprint for that low volume. What kinds of fish would do well in this? It is pretty shallow. I'm open to pretty much anything, just interested in what people may have tried in the past.
Gannon
This sounds like a great tank for neolamprolongus multifaciatus. The classic shell dwellers everyone knows are really hardy and will probably breed in there at a slow and steady pace which is a lot of fun. The amount of footprint you have is great for this. MAC
8" is pretty shallow, but if I had that tank I'd see if I could find some way to set up rockwork with lots of nooks and crannies and install a small power head or HOB to generate some flow and have myself a little hillstream loach tank. It's also a pretty easy tank to get things growing out the top like pothos or bamboo.
