Balloon mollies are the same species just bred differently. I assume this means their offspring would be fertile. I have absolutely nothing to base this on other than knowledge of hybrids and such. I could be completely wrong. I also assume this means they could mate together since they are the same species. It would be the same as 2 different guppy strains breeding. Idk enough about balloon mollies to know if there is any physical limitations to breeding for them similar to male ribbon guppies but that is the only barrier i can think of. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PotatoFish Posted August 22, 2022 Author Share Posted August 22, 2022 The way I theorize it is they're the same species, Poecilia sphenops, no? Kind of like fancy goldfish and shubunkins.
