Stocking Idea

Cycling a new tank and wondering if this would be overstocked? I plan on getting 12 harlequin rasboras, 1 bolivian ram, and 6 cory catfish. I have a 29 gallon tank.

since it is a new tank, when you start stocking it, sneak up on the amount of fish.  many variables in stocked vs overstocked. what it really comes down to is the level of tank maintenance required. the more fish= the more frequent the maintenance will be needed.

That sounds like a good stocking to me. Just make sure you don't put them all in at once like @lefty o said. Do 1 species at a time and maybe even half the rasboras at a time. Do the cories last.

My 33 gal community tank is probably overstocked, but I have 2 big sponge filters in it, lots of live plants (plus lucky bamboo and pothos roots sucking up nitrates), and do weekly water changes. If you are concerned about bioload, adding any/all of the above would help a lot.
