Mgreene317
Hey everyone, I had a quick question. I got a trio of “copper” guppies a few months back and after guppies doing what they do best I have a whole colony going. My question is this, based on the pictures, do they all look like “copper” guppies or was I sold mixed guppy strain and this the results?
lefty o
they are probably all the same basic strain, but with guppies, even with good strains you need to cull undesireables if your goal is an all look alike strain. they have recessive gene's that pop out in some of the fry. Mgreene317
Interesting, the only problem is none them look like the original male. Ill have to verify if that even was a “copper”
lefty o
the female could have been bred to a different male before you got them too.
sumplkrum
I'm not sure what a 'copper' guppy is supposed to look like. Is this it? Based on the pictures, you have quite a variety. Some females are blond. The males are a bit all over the place. I assume the male was what you wanted. Maybe one of the females was from a different strain or as lefty said, stuck by someone else?
