Platy fry question

I have some 2 month old and 1 month old platy fry. The 2 month old fry are just over half an inch and starting to show a little color. I'm giving them away to some local fish keepers. When are they big enough to move?

When are they big enough to move? From birth. I've bought platies and other fish that gave birth in the bag and did fine. You can buy fry from some breeders who sell them very young. In some cases, it seems like the younger a fish is, the tougher it is.

I'd say the only reason to delay moving them is if the new fishkeepers need to know which are male and which are female, or only want one sex. It can take 4 months for sex to be visible, at least in my fry. As long as the folks are okay with getting both sexes, your fish are old enough to move 🙂

livebearer fry are pretty tough. after a few weeks, id have no problem moving them.
