How do I increase my buffer ppm

Hi my water has moderate ph 7.2 to 7.6 and it’s hard water at 300 but my buffer is low at 40 how can I increase it thank you and does it affect my plant grown also I’m battling algae  on glass, i do easy green, question on easy green do I add just the water that I change or do I dose for the full tank when I do my water change every week thank you

40 is probably an okay kh.  You can add something like crushed coral or a wondershell if you really want.   But with weekly changes 40ppm kh is fine. 

 

for easy green assuming you have plants too 😉 you dose based on your tank size weekly.  In principle your plants are removing the fertilizer regardless of water changes.  The bottle's recommendation is just a starting point though.  you may need more or less, and if you have time its best (imo) to dose it spread out throughout the week.
