Fishy101
Hello, Water perameters are normal temp 76-78 My betta just recovered a few weeks ago from having some trouble swimming, I increased the temp and put in catapa leaves and she got fully better in three to four days this time she is having trouble swimming and is constantly resting on things, and seems like she does not have lots of energy, she won’t chase after food but if it is right by her she will eat I have her in an isolated tank with a catapa leaf just wondering if anyone has suggestions? thanks
Colu
It could be swim bladder I would treat with Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 2 gallons for no more than 15 minutes for a couple of days as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxants to relieve pressure on the swim bladder if you see no improvement after a couple of days I would do a course of kanaplex in food as some swim bladder problems can be caused by a bacterial infection Edited January 20, 2022 by Colu
Fishy101
Ok, if she had swim bladder would her stomach be bigger though? She seems to be having a little more life and energy now. Here are some photos. I notice her gills are slightly sticking out but not sure if that’s just her trying to get more air or something. I’m glad she seems to be getting better but she had these same symptoms a few weeks ago and just wondering what it is. She also had a very big appetite today which is good feedback is much appreciated thanks! Edited January 20, 2022 by Fishy101
Colu
With the symptoms you described it more than likely a swim bladder issue I can't rule out a bacterial infection
