Dmc
My fish seems healthy he is eating and swimming no other signs of sickness. I tested my water using the API test kit and they are all fine. I feed him four pellets a day and did a water change on the weekend. I have had him only three weeks. I don’t want to treat him if he is not sick but his tail looks different from when I bought him. If he is sick what are my next steps
Colu
Can you take a picture of the fish and what are your water parameters as most cases of fin rot are caused by poor water quality

Colu
White areas can be a sign that his fins are starting to heal what I would do is small daily water changes for a week that will help speed up the healing process if you notice the fins are still receding after a week then I would do a course of maracyn or kanaplex most important thing with fin rot is good water quality and good nutrition that I add would also add some frozen or live brine shrimp or daphnia to his diet
