mtnmonster
I found an old 55 gallon tank I quite a few years ago in my shed. I'm going to fill and test for leaks but the glass is pretty dirty. What would be the best way to clean it?
Flumpweesel
I use paper and vinegar for glass. As it's a long way from getting fish yet if it's really dirty washing up soap to get the worst of then by the time you have rinsed and leak tested it should be free of residue. mynameisnobody
@mtnmonster you could use baking soda and it’ll make for an easy clean, however you must be sure to get it perfectly rinsed out. Rinse and rinse again with a garden hose and then allow to dry. Done. Good luck!
lefty o
on old crusty tanks, i use a razor blade. when using a blade make sure to keep out of the silicone.
Beardedbillygoat1975
Vinegar, h2o2, isopropyl alcohol are all great.
