Marissa
After losing my betta to ich, I’ve been trying to figure out how to prepare the tank for a new betta. I keep finding conflicting information about how to go about this. Some say ich will die within 2 weeks without a host, and others say you should bleach the tank and items in it. I’d like it if I didn’t have to completely restart/recycle the tank. Any insight? I’m also considering pretreating the next fish I get using aquarium co op’s recommended trio. Edit: I noticed someone else asked a similar question but was treating with ich-x. In my case, I attempted to treat with aquarium salt and coppersafe so the tank has been running for about a week with those in it. Candi
We would do a large water change, with a really good gravel vac. The salt and lack of host in the tank should have the tank ready for a new fish.
