producer.rick
Newby question, is it hard to drill a glass aquarium? Picking up a 55g tomorrow, already have a 75, 2 29’s and a 5.5 and looking at possible drilling one of them.

Eric R
I think on the aqueon standard sized rimmed aquariums only the bottom is tempered and only for the larger ones.
Lowells Fish Lab
I drilled a couple this weekend following the aquarium co op guide. It's a little nerve wracking but unless you are working with thin glass on a 10 gallon or smaller it isn't too bad. Just gotta go slow and keep some water flow on it. Be sure to get the right abrasive hole saws, don't try a spade bit or something like that.
