36 gallon stocking

Hello! Need some advice, 
I have a planted 36 gallon tank with 25 chili rasbora, 7 khuli loaches, and 6 amano shrimp.  

Would it be too much to add 2-3 honey gourami? Should I just stick to 1 male?

I’d say 2-3 honey gourami are likely fine, assuming they’re the true honey gourami, and not the thick-lipped honey gourami (they are often more aggressive towards other the true honey gourami and get larger). 
This would give you fish more at the top level, so they’d likely have a nice big space of their own to hang out in, as all of the other fish tend to reside lower than that.

A bit depends on the dimension of the tank. Also honey gourami tend to be social and tend to do better in groups of 4 to 6 if your tank will support it. Unlike some gourami like dwarf honey are very mellow fishes.

I don’t disagree, but I also think they’re pretty flexible. I have a pair of honeys in my 55 and they’re loving life. I wouldn’t hesitate to do a pair or trio.
