Fertilizer and lots of time. This is some I have in a 20 tall and it took over a year to get over the half way mark. Granted it only had 3-4 leaves and was a bout 3 inches tall when I got it lol. As far as what types grow tall I’m not sure. I believe this is Wendtii Red.

Was this anubias cut back any time in the last few months? The circled parts in the pics look like either flowers or new leaves/shoots (possibly some of each). Typically, these are both more likely to occur near the growing tip of the rhizome, unless there has been disturbance (like trimming or breakage or change in light or whatever).
Actually yes, the very end of it and about a week afterwards is when this new growth started coming in.

Flowers 🤞🤞
I haven’t thought of that possibility. That would be super cool.

It is actually attached to some wood. It has grown vertically almost out of a 20 tall! I have never seen this type of growth before

This Anubias is approaching 2 years or so and has been growing pretty consistently on one end for a while now. Recently I noticed some new, tiny leaves growing on the old growth under some pretty mature leaves. Is this normal? Is it getting ready to branch off in different directions? 🤷

@JoeQ I am confused why you call that Christmas Moss. I do not see any parallel branches on any of the main branches that make the Christmas tree shape. This looks like the mislabeled Java Moss hybrid that I keep getting from LFS's with a couple random length parallels.
Attached is a picture of some that I found. But it still is not that full consistent triangle but at least it has equally spaced parallels.
Mine initially looked leggy, but once it started filling in, it looked very similar to this picture @JoeQ shared, and since posting this thread, it has grown out significantly and is undeniably Christmas Moss.

This will probably get different reactions. I have left it out all day before and fed it to my fish when I got back. Everyone did fine and are still living.

Reading up on it it doesn’t appear to be uncommon for them to be kept in a community tank. You could always give it a try and keep an eye on them for a few days. 😊

I haven’t kept them with other fish, but in my experience they are pretty aggressive toward each other. They don’t seem to be nippy, but I watch the larger females constantly harass and chase the males and other smaller females around. Others may not have a problem and it could just be my batch 🤷♂️
Are yours that way toward each other?

Absolutely. I will take a pic when I get home, but here it is when I first got it. Correction it had 4 leaves after looking at the picture 😝

The one for me lately is an Anubias Barteri I got that had three leaves. I placed it in a 20 tall and it now has over a dozen leaves and is a couple of inches from growing out of the water and this thing is attached to driftwood on the bottom of my tank!

Hello! How old is this tank and how often do you clean the sponges?

The leaves appear to be healthy. No black spots or holes, but does it look like something is growing on it perhaps? Maybe black beard algae?

I have been breeding some red coral platies for several months now. They have pumped out hundreds of fry, but there is this one, probably a juvenile now, that was born with some black spots directly above and below the point before its tail fin. I have read that this could be cancer or part of genetics. If that is the case, what can I expect as far as breeding goes?

Thanks for posting! I have really been into Dan’s channel

I removed all duckweed from my main display last year and haven’t seen it since. It was a painstaking process, but for some reason l miss it now and have found myself thinking of adding it back. 🤷♂️
