  1. Hello all. I am new to breeding and I am trying to breed Gldn Whitecloud Mt Minnows. Can the fry eat Rapashy powder or should I purchase fry specific food.
  2. Yes, I find that Duckweed is like french fries dipped in a chocolate shake to them.😉🤣. I haven't tried the other 2. Thanks for the imput.
  3. Thank you both. I do have some plants in the filter. I know they will eat water sprite but I will try the other 3.
  4. Sorry about the water quality, they just ate. Speaking of eating, my goldfish have eaten Java Ferns, Crips and Amazon Swords. I'm looking for a fast growing plants that they might not eat. I do have some luck with Anubias but they are slow growers and don't do much for algae, in fact the get covered with it and I have to clean them off. Any suggestions.
  5. It sounds like the concensus is that it's gamble. Sounded way too easy or more people would be doing it. Thanks for the input.
  6. If I did it, it would through the carbon or reverse osmosis filter first and the into the tank. I do weekly water checks now anyway. I may have to get one and test it out on the family first.
  7. Thank you! Yes, I was not talking about RO, just a carbon filter, it would make my life a whole lot easier. Good idea to test it first. Thanks again!
  8. I've have been reading that in-line carbon and reverse osmosis water filters neutralize chlorine. Does anyone find this to be true, if so do I need to use a liquid dechlorinator? Thank you
  9. Moving day for the fish. Goldfish are upstairs in my bedroom for about a week while the workers start jack hammering in my basement. Thanks for the help.
  10. Very interesting conversation. It's something that I have pondered. I have goldfish, some of which were feeder fish. I have to believe the life and care that I am giving them is far better than being FOOD. I think as long as you are care for your pet and not abusing them it's ok. Should we look at dogs and cats the same way because my dog sure does seem happy.
  11. @patriciaand @Patrick_G thank you for the warm welcome!
  12. Thank you! These GF are from my little pond that I had in my backyard. I had to get rid of the pond so the fish came inside. Two of them are feeder fish. All I had was a 10 gal, with 5 3-4 inch GF I was doing 80% water changes every 6 days. For Christmas and my birthday, which is right after I got gift cards for an aquarium. That's a 55 gal. Now I can go 2 weeks and am only changing 50 %. I'm trying to slowly turn it into a planted tank. I put the marks on the side to get an idea of how many gallons of water I'm changing. It's a dry eraser marker so it will come right off. Thank you for the welcome message!!!
  13. Thank you both!! Zenzo, I watch your channel also, great content!
  14. Hello all, I have a 55 gal. with 5 gold fish in my basement. I need to move them for a week or so while deal with another water problem (leaky basement). Any ideas on how to move them? Where to keep them? I have an empty, cycled 10 gal in my bedroom. Not sure if that would be OK for a week. Thanks for any help.
  15. Hello Everyone, I'm David Retired LEO. I kept fish when when I was younger and now that I have more time to kill, I picked it up again. It's good to see that there is so much more and easier to find information out there.
