Opinions on whether to put any stock in a quarantine tank to keep the nitrogen cycle going until I need to actually quarantine a new fish? Its a 10 gallon aquarium.

Ryan squeezing the filter into the tank is not helpful. The beneficial bacteria lives on the filter. It should br placed in the new tank until some bb can grow in the new tank.

ok so problem, maybe. I did a water change of 50% on my 125G tank. PH went up to 8.4. Tap PH is 8.4 as well. it was 6.9 before water change. How bad will this affect my shrimp. I have Amano shrimp.
