How many nets do you have?
I only have two nets, I don`t do water changes very much and not moved anything so yes this is a mystery 😕

Did anything come from other tanks
I have guppies in two tanks, but only some p cories and 3 oto in a 40B, if it is a guppy, I have no idea how it got in the 40B. well thanks all and will wait until it gets bigger.

Hi all, the only fish in this tank are a few pygmy coreys and some otos. I`m really surprised to see a baby fish and only one, the big reminds me of a pygmy. Thanks

Fancy guppies has always been my first choice, my sister also loved guppies and I was getting ready to set her up a guppy tank, but she passed away a couple days ago.😭 I will pass that tank on to her son when he is ready. I have only kept a few different fish and never been one to think I need to duplicate some sort of natural environment. I do like pygmy coreys for some reason and have ordered some more that should be here this week.

an fx4 12 10 gallons. How could this be done?
Thats an interesting idea, seems like the motor/pump would have to be powerful and I`m no help with this. Would this even be practical? I can`t wait to find out.😕

one even laid eggs
I`m sorry your having trouble. I`ve had a shrimp that dropped her eggs just before she passed other than that I watch them carry until they`re born. Shrimp are very good at hiding. I also have a ton of ramshorn snails in one tank because I over feed this tank. Do you have any fish stock? I will be no help about plants. I used to have lots of trouble with tanks, but I changed some things and tanks are doing great now.
I know this didn`t help, but I know others will be better to help you. Good luck.

Well, I got three Amano's back in late January then added two more and they are all over the tank, the first ones are getting bigger and seem to eat all the time. I don`t use heaters and there are other shrimp with them.

I did find a pic that shows a corner of the 20L green tank as it got better.

I setup a 40B and used play sand instead of pool sand and it looked ok for a while then it got overrun by bladder snails and I mean a crap load. I got so discouraged that I tore down the tank and used gravel instead. I can`t find a pic, but here is two pics of new and improved setup. I didn`t rinse anything but things cleared up ok.

Well with water changes green water is gone, I don`t know what happened to pic, however the plant in this 40B started to grow for some reason and not sure what kind of plant it is but must be super easy to grow or I would have killed it, also I`m using no fertilizers.

This might sound dumb but are the legs the same length, also is the floor level. If I was going to use something like that, I would take it apart and have someone weld some plates on the bottom legs maybe 4–5-inch square, that might help distribute the weight better.
I got some metal stands from Petco, and they had adjustable feet, still was a pain to level, I also used foam under the tank because the top of the stand was not level, a wood stand might have been easier. I got my stands as level as possible and I`m not sure if the level was a little off would that hurt anything. 😕

denitrifying 5.5 gallon.
Nice looking setup.
I understand what you're doing now, I have done something similar with 4 tanks and have very low tank maintenance, I only wish I could grow plants like Guppysnail.

clean/disinfect my brand new tank either with salt or vinegar
Well I just use water/vinegar (50/50mix) and do dry with no problems.

Well crap I shouldn`t go on a rant but when I got back into the hobby last November I looked to YouTube and unfortunately listened to so-called experts. (I didn`t find ACO until after I setup tanks.) I soon realized that that these so-called experts were only concerned about money and nothing else, now I only listen to two people, ACO being the first, I feel Cory as a genuine care of the hobby and giving us the best information and products available for the hobby. (Not just about money.) I hope I have said that right. Not everybody knows everything about this hobby or how to make things work, we are all different and have different styles, what works for one might not work for others. I have seen some great information on this forum, some stuff I do wonder about, but I`m not afraid to try something new. I don't have a lot of tanks and I`m not very good on maintenance but I`m trying to be better. Other than the box stores, there is one local LFS and I try to go there first.

The stuff used to soak up oil (Oil-Dry is made with clay.)

I use special kitty litter (Walmart) and yes it got mushy but when I removed and checks the BCB the kitty litter was good. (Kitty litter is used with laterite.)

Wow that looks awesome, the tub idea is interesting, seems a lot of folks use outside tubs. Maybe someone could tell me the pros/cons of using tubs outside. Is a certain size needed? Is it possible to raise shrimp?

Is there any type of small fish, maybe a max of 1" that wouldn`t use baby shrimp as snacks, I`m talking of up to 40 as a group? Also be in the middle to top of water column, and what about a large group for the bottom that usually stay on the bottom. Thanks.

The idea of this filter is this
How fast does the air move the water through the plenum?
Will this make anoxic conditions?
I think this is a neat idea.

Is the white plate a plenum? Is the filter to the right? Will there be gravel or sand?

Are you putting fish or something else in the tank?
How is this going to work?

Ok...But where can i buy the sponge?
CO-OP or maybe an LFS, not sure if Petco or the like sells them, sponge filters are very useful but need to be cleaned.

I see bubbles in pic. Is this a sump? Or tank
