He deserves it. What do you think?
He has stated on live streams about wanting one.

I have used green scrub pads to scrub the interior glass walls for ages. Have any of you used the co-op algae scrubber sponge? Or any other melamine type sponge? Does it work better?
What have you found works best that I may not be aware of? So far, a new green scrubby works the best for me.

If the top was made for 3, that's what I would do... But its not my money I'm spending :-). You are lucky, I don't have the space for a 125. Good luck.

Co-op sponge filters are good. I use one off Amazon because I wanted a finer sponge. I can't remember the brand and I don't think it matters.
As far as the uneven air, air will follow the path of least resistance. The stones might have some variations in manufacturing, the air tubing different lengths.....
If you want even air flow, get a air control manifold that allows adjustment of each airline, or a air flow valve on each line.

I use a razor blade on glass and just leave them on the driftwood. The do eventually go away.

Nice photo. Good luck.

I have a 55 gallon tank currently being filtered by a fine sponge filter powered by a powerhead. I am going to switch to air powered due to lower flow for fry. I have always used Whisper air pumps but willing to switch brands. The pump will power the sponge filter and an air stone. Looking for dependable quiet pump. What would you recommend?

I wish there was a product to remove pest snails and at the same time destroy algae.

We have some serious hobyists here!

Apartment living has me down to one 55 gallon tank. At one time I had 4 going. How about you? Fish keeping is addictive!

Flakes every day. Blood worms 3x week. Many of my small fish can't swallow blood worms.
I have bug bites that I use 2-3x a week.
I change water when it tests off. It's been 11 months now. I clean filters about every month or two....whenever flow is substantially decreased.

I use eco complete and like it. I think you are on the right track with a mixture.

I have 10 black neon tetras. They stick together and are very hardy.

Bummer... gotta toss it.

I have 4 nerite snails and an infestation of miniature white snails in a 55 gallon planted tank. What would be the best way of ridding myself of the ugly tiny snails. I know I will have to relocate the nerites if chemicals are used. What would you do?

I have a planted 55 gallon aquarium. Will a UV steriliser help with algae control? Mostly have green algae on glass and plants. I have increased then decreased light and fertilizer but algae remains.

I have a planted 55 gallon tank with 10 corydoras as my cleanup crew.
What do you have? I'm looking for options.

You don't prefer to have the finer sponge inside the filter? Just curious.
Good point. Right now I have the course sponge and purigen in my backfilter. The course sponge dosen't filter anything, it's just biological. I might try it your way, I'm not stubborn. 🙂

I like the very fine pre-filters even though they clog quicker. They need to be washed each week or they stop the flow to my aquaclear filter. The fact they get clogged mean they are filtering better.
Your opinion?

Very similar. But tiny white almost translucent

Help identify the snail
White, looks like Malaysian trumpet snails under magnification. They stay the size of fish eggs...no bigger. Nocturnal. Hide under gravel under high light. Too small to take photo
What could it be?
Green scrub pad...interior glass cleaning

Thanks for the input everyone. Sounds like the melamine sponges are the way to go.
Thanks
