I recently lost both my bettas in death, for different reasons. I have a 10 gallon tank with a divider and wanted to make sure that it will be clean and ready for new fish. I believe that Darcy just died from old age. I had him for over 2 years and he just slowed down, then stopped moving and eating and died 2 weeks ago. Jason, as far as I could tell, had a tumor. He had an interior growth on his right side and an exterior growth on his left side, which when I took him out this morning, right after he died, seemed to have popped…? I checked the water parameters after I took him out and everything seemed to be ok, though I will check again later today. I’m planning on replacing all the silk plants, but keeping the current gravel, rocks, and wood. Will suctioning the gravel, and doing 3 water changes (75%, 50%, and 50%) over the next 2 weeks be sufficient to clean the tank ready for new fish?? Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you!
