I have been having problems with my betta, for over a month he has this whitish patch on his fin, an I noticed a small hole yesterday. I tried every available medication in my country? Any idea how to treat this? Thanks in advance.

I dont think that is the case. Like I said on my first post it's eating well and growing well active, poop is normal, even spawned.
-
One dose of paraguard seems to solve it. Applied it yesterday and today most of the white layer was gone. Gonna keep dosing for a couple of days more just to be sure.
But the second cory with the sunken in chest, could this be somekind of genetic defect?

Maybe the powerbar cant take both outlets, like maybe you have too many outlets plugged in??
I dont think that is the case. Air pump uses 2 watss, heater is 200 watts, filter is another 15 watts. During daytime a 1200 watt gaming pc is also running on the same outlet. Never tripped a circuit.
-
It is normally set to 25degrees (celcius). And due too room temperature it only works once a day at night (rest of the day tank is stable at 25 without heater)
Sometimes I woke up as low as 23,5 degrees and as high as 26 degrees (I had to shut it manually) I realized the airstone was the culprit just recently. As I needed the airpump on another tank. I did contacted the manufacturer to sent the heater to be replaced. But now I am torn, they'll test it and it'll work just fine.
-
@cory Yes I do have a top on the aquarium. Ratio is 200 liters/200 watts. Like I said if turn off the airstone it works just fine.
I really dont get what is causing this.
-
I am a canister filter user. Intake on one corner and outlet on the other, aimed towards center of the front glass.
As Cory mentioned several times the benefits of using an airstone I decided to run one.
But no matter what I do where ever I place the air stone, I am having problems with my heater. Sometimes it never goes on or other times it keeps on working. When I shut the air stone, heater operates as it is supposed to and my temps stays where they should. I think it affects the flow. Where can I put it so everything should work as they supposed to.

Yeah they are eating quite well actually. But we do not have api general cure. If its parasites I can use seachem paraguard as it is filter/plant safe.

Hi I have 8 Panda corys. Two of them have issues
First one developped a white coat on it. It is visible when you look at on specific angles.
What this could be, and what would be the treatment. We do not have your med trio over here.
Is it fungus?
The second one has his chest sunken in from both sides. it is like this since I got him, its been three months. I thought it might be internal parasites but, it is active eating well growing well and its poop iooks normal. any idea?

I am a new hobyyist. I setup my first tank two months ago. And added fish 3 weeks ago.
First 3 days there were amonia fluctiations. After that, amonia(0ppm) nittrite (0ppm) nitrate(10-20 ppm) stabilized.
I've been testing every day and so far so good. I have not done a single water change in two week.
Is this wise? Should I still do a 20% water change every week? My tank is well planted.

A month ago I got 20 cardinal tetras and 20 rasboras. Today I have 18 rasboras and 17 cardinals. I made my peace with it, there will be losses no matter what we do. In the future if I want a specific number of fish, I'll simply buy a couple more.
Edit: Sorry missread your post your losses are way too many.

I had 5 packs of frozen blodworms in my freezer. Somehow freezer left open and everything kida melted in there.
Do you think are these still viable. Should I refreze these or throw them out?. Please advise.

I have some news.
Yesterday After putting this fist in to quarantine tank. I applied sera baktopur and tropical sanital ketapang salt.
This morning the lump was gone there was a little scar left in its place. Also fish is doing much better.
Sera baktopur has a 3 day medication period. Will see what happens in the third day.
I still want to kow what this is.

@BNye There are cardinal tetras and panda corys. And no it is not like an open wound or a hole, it is under the skin more like an internal bleeding. When you look at to the fish from top or front/back it is visible, so yes it is a lump.
-
@BNye maybe this would help. I circled it.
-
Hi there is a red lump on my rasbora it looks like a wound.
Any idea what this is. This fish is not eating since yesterday, and kinda breathing heavily.
Last night that lump was not there.

Edit: Thought it was not eating but it went crazy for o-nip tabs with the rest of the tank.
Edit 2 Seperated it tıo quarantine. Waiting for further instructions

I feel like I need to treat my fish for internal parasites. I am seeing to much white stool floating in the aquarium.
My Problem is, being in Turkey I don't have too many options. Fritz and api prducts are not available in Turkish market.
Seachem is widely available but their internal parasite med metroplex is not offered due to metronidazole being banned.
That pushes me towards cat, dog etc medicines.
I found this ;
It contains 5.68 mg praziquantel per ml. Will this be enough by itself ,as I see Fritz paraclense contains both metronidazole and praziquantel
And I have no idea what the dosage should be.
My tank is 55 gal(210 liters).
And it is a planted tank. would like to use this on my main tank instead of Qt tank because it is only 20 liters.

Frankly, @Daniel, in my experience it is dificult. First of all there are no PetCo's or similar big box stores here in Spain in the aquarium world. So you are left with local pet shops or specialized stores.
If you look at a city like Barcelona there are only a handful stores that have a half decent selection of fish. All the fish they carry are extremely small (think Cory's of less than an inch) and young. Stock usually is quite bad (Spain is still hurting a lot from the economic crash of 2008 and stock means cash and therefore stock is very limited). To give you an idea, take a look here, this is probably one of the best shops I know in Barcelona:
ACUARIOFILIA - Urban Natura
WWW.URBANNATURA.COMThere are some Spanish companies that make nice aquariums, like Blau
I thought you'd be better over there than us in Turkey, but it seems lke the other way around.
Stock wise you can find pretty much anything you like. As for the quipment, almost everything is available, Eheim, fluval, tetra jbl etc.
But I feel like we are a little bit short on meds, only seachem and sera products available.
But it is getting more expensive every single day as our currency crashed against USD pretty hard.

Well, I literally had thousands of them in my tank before I put in fish. They cleaned them up in two days.

Hi Cory,
They have been treated with seachem Paraguard. We do not have many options over here Sechem stuff and some sera meds.
Forgot to tell that all these fish are new( two weeks). Actually the number was 22 and I lost two in the first two days.
Should I seperate these two, Just in case?
Thanks
UPDATE: The heavy breathing one died.

Hello,
There are two cardinal tetras in my tank showing sings of disease.
One of tem have a scar/bump like thing at the end of its body where tail starts.
The other one is breathing heavily and pale. It's not as responsive as others

I have a similar problem. I am a newbie and started a new tank. Cycle completed rougly in a month.
Even though every one said I should introduce fish slowly. I went a head and intrduced all in one go.
15 Harlequin rasbora, 20 cardinal tetras and 8 panda corydoras in a 55 gal tank.. I am testing water everyday and get a result around 0.5 mg/l of amonia every day. changing around 50% water hoping that the bacteria catches up.
I am using seachem prime for water conditioning and this amonia test kit.
sera ammonium/ammonia-Test (NH4/NH3) | sera
WWW.SERA.DEsera NH4/NH3-Test - Water test for aquariums ✔ checks aquarium water for ammonium and ammonia ✔ optimize water parameters ✔ Find out more now!Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
PS: I think seachem stability doesn't work.
