Maximus
Hello again, I have some substrate that I'm looking to move into a new tank, and there are quite a few small assassin snails in there. I would like to have this particular new tank be snail-free, and am looking for a method to wipe them out. My current plan is to gather all of the gravel into a bucket, and add a bleach solution, rinsing multiple times and letting it dry out after. Would that be sufficient? Justnotrook
I would not recommend anything you are saying. Maybe dry out the substrate for a couple days. Even better, just look for people that want them In your area and give them away.
Maximus
Interesting, why not? I've used bleach in the past to kill off all unwanted organisms like cyanobacteria, I figured it'd work against snails. As long as it's properly rinsed I haven't heard of anyone having any issues with it. Picking over the gravel like dried lentils or beans is a bit tedious due to the volume I'm dealing with, but a welcome idea. I'd probably end up feeding them to my loaches, though. TAB
You could always bake it in the oven too.
