Hi, I have a few questions about this sand.

1. I am going to use it for my discus aquarium, is it remotely similar to what they have in their natural habitat? (I’m trying to make it as realistic as possible)

2. Will it be okay for a BN pleco? I have heard more coarse gravel / sand isn’t good for them but I don’t know if this will be fine

3. Will it be okay for a planted tank?

4. Is it coarse enough so it won’t be blown around by a strong flow?

Any answers are appreciated, thanks

I used Caribsea’s peace river sand in my 20 long, it is very similar to this gravel/sand. It does well with plants, and it is hard to disturb. It settles nearly instantly, but every now and again I find some pieces on the leaves of my crypts from my fish stirring it up.

I don’t have an answer for you on the first two.

You need to research the area the discus come from. Research the river or basin and check for yourself what the substrate looks like. I’m pretty sure there isn’t 1 substrate that will replicate directly what is in nature. You’re going to have to mix a bunch of stuff up for that.
