wafy
I have a large Fluval hang-on breeder box and was wondering if a 5.5 gallon Aqueon tank can handle the extra weight (0.5 gallons). The 5 gallon is the only cycled and unstocked tank I have at the moment and I have some cpd eggs that I'd rather raise in a breeder box. The reason I don't want to just raise them in the tank itself is because there's sand and plants which makes it harder to clean excess food. Tony s
Weight wise it’s not a problem. Only 3 to 4 lbs. hanging on the steel frame. Temperature fluctuations may be a bigger issue. Even if you have the one with the air stone to help circulate the water. I didn’t have a lot of luck with that one and angel fry. Just get a small diameter of tubing and patience and carefully change water may be more effective.
