HansE
I would like to make some lily pipes to replace the green ones on my eheim canister filter. I would prefer black, but I will accept clear, if necessary. Does anybody know a good source? Much appreciated!
gardenman
Black PVC tubing is typically made for furniture use and not plumbing, but it should be strong enough for use in an Eheim filter application. The site pvcfittingsonline has a selection of black furniture-grade tubes in 5-foot lengths from 1/2" diameter and up. There will be lots of other vendors also. They just popped up in a quick search. It's pretty cheap at $8.84 for a five-foot length of half-inch tube. They also sell black fittings. It's not pressure rated, but a filter isn't a high-pressure application so it should be okay.
johnnyxxl
I would make sure it's rated for potable water as black drain PVC can leach stuff into water that's why they use white for drinking water
