moler clay ???

You might want to be more specific about what exactly you're trying to do if you want in depth answers.

 

I think Bentley pascoe has a video about using cat litter in an under gravel filter but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

We use calcined clay like Safe-T-Sorb, which is similar but not the same as kitty litter, in our 65g's under gravel filter. It has a nice reddish brown color when wet. It is gray when dry.

Needs several gentle rinses. I say gentle so that you keep the larger particles from breaking up. We have soft water, so we alkaline loaded half the amount by presoaking with an alkaline buffer and baking soda. We didn't bother rinsing the other half because we intended to have large water changes after the 4 week cycling via dark start.

Here it is on left 2/3 of tank. This was after cycling.
