 they can get broken fin rays and fibrous tissue will grow to stabilise  the break causing white lumps sometimes you can get secondary fungal infection as it been going on the for a couple of months with not deterioration I don't think it's anything to worry about

That makes sense.  I have her with a three dot/opal gourami.  She's always chasing the platys but only when they're going poop.   She'll eat it if she gets close enough.  I figure she's helping keep the tank clean. But the platys will rapidly swim away. I wouldn't doubt if she had accidentally nipped the platy going for her, "extra meal" or injured it on some spider wood or decor.  I'll watch for any redness or other symptoms.  I have been adding Seachem Stressguard to help prevent any bacterial infections.
