ShineOn75
@Colu Two or so months ago this female platy developed these two ick like spots. They haven't changed at all since I noticed them. The other fish have not development these spots. Should I just continue to wait and watch?
Colu
they can get broken fin rays and fibrous tissue will grow to stabilise the break causing white lumps sometimes you can get secondary fungal infection as it been going on the for a couple of months with not deterioration I don't think it's anything to worry about
ShineOn75
That makes sense. I have her with a three dot/opal gourami. She's always chasing the platys but only when they're going poop. She'll eat it if she gets close enough. I figure she's helping keep the tank clean. But the platys will rapidly swim away. I wouldn't doubt if she had accidentally nipped the platy going for her, "extra meal" or injured it on some spider wood or decor. I'll watch for any redness or other symptoms. I have been adding Seachem Stressguard to help prevent any bacterial infections. Thank you @Colu Edited December 10, 2023 by ShineOn75
