Work out room help

So I have pond in my work out room I am trying to get set up. I inherited a 55 gal tall tank for pond because tub is stretching so wanted to switch to glass. This has been slow project but none less. Now the purpose of pond propigated aquariam plants for my 2 fish aquariams because I want happy aquariams. I need something that be good work out buddy and not hard on plant as I am trying propigated them....any ideas?

Shiners are such good-looking fish! 

 

As for the Op, for tubs and cold water in genera (really for everything) I go with White Cloud Mountain Minnows. They handle unheated garage tanks rather well. Cute too.

Now I need more plants and new lids any fun suggestions on plants? I have horn wort crips water wisteria Amazon sward. When one of my offshoots gets alil bigger a dwarf sag will go in there
