allanramos1010
So I recently did a test on my tap water and it came with ph over 8 and the aquarium co op ph stay around 6-7. The other these are very close to the api. I’m confused as to what’s going on. All my aquariums are at around 6.5 PH. I thoug of user error or no longer good chemical, so I bought I ph api test again and the results are the same again at over 8 and aquarium co op strips still show it to be 6-
TheSwissAquarist
One quick way to get a clear result is to ask your local water distributor. They usually keep tabs on the water params. However, you say that your tanks are at 6.5, so I’m more inclined to believe the ACO test strips. Welcoem to the forum btw!

Ive used the ACO and had these results, the API kit uses BTB as do many others which ive used for more accurate results. Id trust the API for pH. Chick-In-Of-TheSea
What I do personally when in doubt, is go by the liquid test. If really in doubt or if I feel I may have messed up the test, I repeat it just to be sure. I also make sure the test kit is not expired.
