Dipping objects/plants in methylene blue+ water solution for potential disinfection?

Hey guys,

 

Is methylene blue an effective way of dipping plants or some objects before transfering one to another tank in order to prevent diseases? I dont mean getting rid of critters or snails. Just preventing the transfer of potential diseases. 

I normally use hydrogen peroxide for my equipments but not all plants take it well. 

 

If methylene blue works to prevent the transfer of diseases, what concentration of methylene blue/water should work? How long should they be dipped in for?

Methylene blue can be toxic to plants so I wouldn't recommend using it for dipping plants i have only ever used methylene blue in bath to treat fish or in a container with fish eggs I would never add it directly to a tank @Lennie
