Jackson
What creates beneficial bacteria in a tank ? Where does it come from . I can see ammonia and nitrates being created . But what causes the good stuff ?
Pepere
Beneficial bacteria spores are in the air. Contact with air alone will seed your tank, and pretty much at indistinguishable speed as seeding it with bacteria in a bottle products…. If you put plants in the tank it is on them if you dont kill them off. It is on the surface of fish, it is abundantly present in fish poo. It is abundantly present in potting soil you have in your plant pots in the house. In the soil outside your house. But dont use that if the vegetation has been treated with pesticides..
