Will this stand hold a 55 gallon aquarium with everything in it

I would trust that oak cabinet more than any of the flimsy particle board stands they sell now.

I agree.  Assuming that cabinet is solid wood and not particle board (which looks to be the case), it will likely be at least as sturdy as any purpose-built stand you could buy, or probably make.

My daughter-in-law has had a 55 gallon tank on an old solid wood sideboard and it's worked just fine.
