Are dumbo ear and regular guppy fry sterile?

I was recently told that if I mix dumbo ear guppies and regular guppies that their fry would be sterile. I'm just trying to see if that is true. Thanks for any help.

I'm fairly certain that dumbo ear are still the same species, in which case those fry would not be sterile. I am not an expert, though.

That was what i was thinking as well. im just trying to makre sure before i mix them in the other tanks. Thank you

I breed dumbo eared guppies.  They will happily breed with non dumbo eared guppies.   The fry can and do have fry of their own.   
You may have heard that mature Ribbon fin males cannot breed with females and this is true.   But Ribbon fin females can breed easily.  The result will be that some fry will inherit the ribbon fins and some just carry the gene.
