melostvn
Hey everyone, Does anyone know what type of algae this is and how to treat it? I’ve had my tank for about two months.
Daniel
I have some of the same stuff and I looked at it under the microscope this morning. It looks like brown diatoms. I'd say we both have brown diatom algae.
Roko
Hi, just do more frequently water changes and try to remove as much as possible during wc. In few week it should go. Plus you can maybe lower light time to 6-7 hours, and put it on timer if you don't use one.
L.W. Wetarm
If it’s on the glass, don’t scrape it off, it will just settle somewhere else. Instead, when the water is lowered during water change, use paper towels to wipe it off and remove it from the tank. Wipe from bottom to top in rows, folding the towel to always wipe with a clean side. Go to fresh paper towel after 3 or 4 wipes.
