How do you guys disinfect a tank as well as the heater, filter, nets and gravel vac that it had a disease outbreak ? Will only air-drying be sufficient to kill any disease? knee Posted February 11, 2023 Share Posted February 11, 2023 (edited) I've used bleach before but only for the tank, HOB filter and heater. I spray the tank in bleach and let it sit for 15 minutes then rinse, then I removed the pump on the HOB and let it sit in a 50/50 bleach/water solution for 15-20 minutes, rinse and let sit in some dechlorinated water for a few minutes. I haven't tried that with the ACO heater tho so I can't speak much on that. Make sure all of them are completely dry for 24-48 hrs before using again.
