SpacedCadette
Curious if anyone might know what these spots on my snail are? I thought they were algae at first but when I tried to gently clean them off her shell they were totally unaffected. Is this a discoloration thing? Is there something wrong with her shell? I’m very fond of her so I just want to make sure she’s healthy. Edited October 4, 2022 by SpacedCadette
Guppysnail
I personally would not worry. It could be staining from algae. The shell being porous it will not come off like an unglazed ceramic dish. One of mine had an algae covering that a nerite friend cleaned off some of the green coloration remained. This could also be staining from a food. I recently purchased a food that either @Katherineor @Chick-In-Of-TheSea informed me stained decor and substrate. Her new growth looks very healthy Edited October 4, 2022 by Guppysnail

Chick-In-Of-TheSea
I would not worry about it. I only worry if the shell is damaged/cracked or if snails are inactive for long periods of time.
